This is Fruitycake. Wow. Good grief. Are you serious? Are you kidding me?
Those were some of many sentences that I heard yesterday. Getting this electric bike has been one of the most challenging issues we have encountered in this Italy place. Yes. The daily struggles are just that. And you have to laugh at them.
But some days, my persons get to the point of completo. In this Italy place that means full. Complete. Like the bus. They are just done.
This is the fourth bike we have tried to get. This one has come the furthest. And we are almost there! Yesterday, the company said it would be delivered and that it was on the way. They even gave us a time. And so my persons sat down at the bottom of the path and waited. And waited more. Then, they looked at their phones and it said they had a missed delivery. Even though it was never there. They were tired. Hot. Frustrated. Completo.
After phone calls and emails and more back and talking, they found out the new delivery time is today. And so now they are sitting down there. Girl Person is positioned one one road to see the truck drive by and Boy Person is positioned by the parking lot as back up.
Completo. Sometimes you have to pull yourself together and try again, no matter if you want to or not. Because the alternative is giving up. Don’t give up.
Last night, after all was said and nothing done, Girl Person cried. She needed to and I listened to her get it out. She said she’s not sure how we got here, why or what will happen. But she said it’s for a reason. And that this is the season for not giving up. Many need us. Many will need us. We may feel done.
But our work is definitely not completo.
