When No One Else Is On The Trail, Does It Have Less Value?

This is Peanut Butter Brickle. We went on a new hiking trail yesterday in this Georgia place. When we got to the parking area, we noticed there was no one else there. No one at all.

Girl Person said that she wondered why that was. She wondered if we should have gone somewhere else. But we were already there, so we looked at the map and started walking.

As we kept walking, there were so many things to smell. So many things to look at. We kind of lost track of time. Girl Person laughed at Digby and I tripping over each other. And then she tripped over her own feet. So she laughed at herself.

The trees’ leaves were changing colors.

There were lots of pretty rocks.

Girl Person kept wondering what we were missing. Did everyone else know better trails around?

But I just kept thinking, shouldn’t we just enjoy the trail we were on?

Do you like compliments? Do you like others to tell you that you’ve done a good job? I know I sure do sometimes. That’s no secret.

And often, the paths we take in life seem lonely. We may know where we want to go. But we may feel different. Like no one understands our oath to get there. That we are too different. We may feel like we are doing something wrong.

But does a trail or your life’s path have any less value if no one else recognizes it? If no one else is on it? No. Those are the best trails sometimes. But it can be scary to be on it alone.

We have to ask ourselves if we are truly on the path we want to be. Or are we looking for validation from others?

Only you know what value your path holds.

Don’t let anyone steer you off of it.
