When It Stings

This is Peanut Butter Brickle.  There are many things that hurt in life.  When someone doesn’t call me the handsomest dog that they have ever seen?  That hurts.

When I don’t get an option for a second helping of dinner on chicken spaghetti night?  That hurts.

And when it rains for three days straight and I can’t be outside?  That hurts.

NEW STICKER RELEASE

But you know what hurt me most of all yesterday?  When I got stung.  Stung by a bug that I stepped on.  Stung by a yellow jacket.

I don’t know why I am such a tough dog, but I sure am.  It takes a lot for me to admit when I don’t feel good or when I am in pain.  But I couldn’t hide it yesterday when that yellow jacket decided it didn’t like me.  There was no hiding it.  The persons were worried about me.  Fruitycake was worried about me.

Even though I was hurt, and the bite sure did sting, it was nice to be worried about. It was nice to be paid attention to and to feel love.  What I found in life is that words can sting. That is for sure.  But silence hurts worse.  Being ignored hurts worse.  Have you ever felt like you were being ignored when you hurt the most?  I am sorry you have felt that way.

NEW SHIRT AVAILABLE

Life is very hard in different ways for each of us.  But when we don’t feel like others understand, or we feel alone, that is a sting.

When you feel like this, it might be time to ask yourself if the right individuals are in your life.  If they aren’t here for you, value yourself more than the silence you feel.  Love yourself more than hurt.  Give yourself the opportunity to recover from those stings. And know that you just as I will heal from my bite, you will too.
