This is Peanut Butter Brickle. I’ve learned many things in my 14 years as a dog.

But some things, well, I have always known.

I hear persons say all of the time that they own their dogs. They are pet owners. And I wonder why they think that. Or why they started thinking that.
Does it make them take better care of their “property”? Or does it give them an excuse not to?

You see, there are many things that you think you own like a car or a house.

Because you have a piece of paper that says so. Its yours, whatever it is. So you can do what you want to with it.
But what if you thought of your role as a protector and not an owner? Would others take better care of the ones that need them?
And I’m not talking about your house. Or your car. I’m talking about the furry family member in your house and on your couch and on your bed. Hopefully we are allowed there.

I am not owned by anyone. I allow others to take care of me. That makes them feel good and special. And in turn, I protect, I love back and I need you. Just as much as you need me.

No one owns someone else. Not a pet. Not a person.
So instead of thinking that we are entitled to do what we want to those that we own, take care of those you are supposed to protect.
This week we are staying at a little farm that grows magical things!

I’ll start telling you more tomorrow. I think you may love it.

Hope you and Fruitycake are taking this time to rest! Sorry Fruity could not get in to see a vet today. Hard to believe Florida doesn’t have emergency vets and hospitals. They are all over here. I bet that little farm grows flowers, my favorite things after my boys of course. I sure love you both, have a good day❤️🐾🙏
Good morning Brickle and Fruitycake have a good day. Hope Fruitycake eye is ok and you are feeling better Brickle 🙂❤️🙏🐾🐕🦺
