Everyone Has To Wear Pants Sometimes

This is Peanut Butter Brickle. I’m teaching Fruitycake The Raccoon a lot of things.

But I’m finding that the things I don’t say are explaining themselves.

Like yesterday when it got chilly in this Florida place all of a sudden. Boy Person doesn’t deal with the cold very well. He had to put on pants.

But just like Digby used to say, he wasn’t ever going to wear pants. And Boy Person recalled this.

So as he was walking in the campground, he began to sing. “Everybody has to wear pants sometimes. Even if it’s not your style. Unless you’re Digby.” And he wondered why people were looking at him strange.

This occurrence confused Fruitycake who looks like he is wearing pants all of the time.

And yet, without me explaining that Boy Person sings at random times and forgets anyone is around, Fruitycake understood. He understood that our family is…special. Special is a great thing.

It’s ok when others look at you strange if you are being yourself. Why be like others if that’s not who you are?

If other persons can’t deal with silly songs, they don’t have to sing them.

And we should learn to respect others and their individuality. There is no one like me. There is no one like you. There is no one like Fruitycake. And there is certainly no one like Boy Person.

Digby’s sense of humor still carries over with us today. And we miss him. He wouldn’t miss the opportunity to remind you he hated pants.

And so remember. When it’s cold, everybody has to wear pants sometimes. Except Digby.
