The Dog With The Shirt On

This is Fruitycake The Raccoon. Yes. I wear a shirt most days. I think that you’ve probably seen me wear one.

Sometimes my allergies bother me.

Some days I get really cold. Girl Person says I’m just a baby.

But you know what’s funny? Even though I’ve only started wearing a shirt (not pants yet), it doesn’t seem out of the ordinary. I like to wear one.

It makes me feel like I’m being taken care of. And I appreciate it. But I don’t think about being different than others. Or standing out. Cause it’s just me being me.

So when a person on a trail remarked to Girl Person that he recognized me from earlier in the day because of my shirt, I was surprised. Others noticed my shirt? Did I stand out that much? I didn’t know how to feel.

But Brickle told me not to worry. He said that the shirt is just me being me. If I like it, and it stands out to others, that’s just my personality showing.

And if it’s happy and positivity that stands out, that is a very good thing.

But Brickle also told me that sometimes persons don’t realize what stands out about them to others. It could be a frown. A scowl. It could be silence or apathy that stands out to others. What stands out about you? Can you see what others see?

It’s good for us all to work on how we are perceived. It doesn’t mean to change who you are. But it means to make others happy to be in your presence. Make others see who you are. And who you are is awesome. Show it. Don’t hide it.

And that’s something you can be proud of. Just like my shirt.
