Benjamin Brickle

This is Peanut Butter Brickle. Would you want time to go backwards? I’ve thought about this lately. Because I feel younger than I have in years.

When I was a little puppy, persons still thought I was older. No matter if I was a year old or ten years old, persons thought I was a senior.

In fact, the persons considered calling me Benjamin Button after that movie.

Instead, they settled on Peanut Butter Brickle. And although they still like their name choice, Girl Person commented that maybe they should have named me Benjamin Brickle since I seem to be getting younger after all.

I’m not sure if it’s the encouragement I get from Fruity or the way he makes me laugh.

I’m not sure if it’s because I am motivated to keep Digby’s memory alive by doing what he liked to do. Long hikes and good dinners and great naps.

But whatever the reason is, the clock seems to be going backwards yet some would tell me that’s not possible. I say you are as young as you want to be in your heart. We may look in the mirror and see someone we don’t recognize sometimes. Where did the time go?

Why can’t we appreciate youth when we have it? Why does it take getting older to make us realize there is so much life still to live?

Our bodies may not always cooperate with our minds. But remember who you are inside.

You are as young as you want to be. You are as beautiful as you remember on the inside.

If there are changes you can make at any age to live better and love better and be better, do it.

No matter what anyone tells you, there is always, always time to live life to the full.
