This is Peanut Butter Brickle. We carry around a lot of stuff, don’t we? Even as a dog, I have a collar. A leash. Bags. Water. Snacks. That’s just for walking down the street. Don’t even get me started on the persons. Seems like so much stuff. Then they buy stuff to move their stuff around.
We went hiking yesterday on a new trail at a new campground. We’ve never been here before.

So it was pretty exciting. I’m not sure if there’s any better feeling that waking up somewhere new.
It was supposed to rain all day in this North Carolina place.
So we were trying to get an early start. It started raining a little bit. But we didn’t care. It was somewhere new. Exciting. It got sandy so it was a little hard to keep the sand out of where you didn’t want it. But we didn’t care. It was somewhere new. Exciting.
Not only do we carry around stuff, we also carry around negative attitudes. We carry around sadness. Regret. And sometimes it takes something out of the ordinary to make that stuff not feel so heavy.
On other days that sand in our shoes and rain in our pockets would have felt much happier. So how can you handle life with positivity? Is it getting out of your comfort zone? Trying something new?
What helps you?

Thinking ahead and taking care of ourselves can mean planning. Things that bother us feel heavier without trying to lighten up.

Take it from me, a bounce in my step isn’t always easy. It takes effort to know how to feel better. And that my friends is the first step to a lighter step.
