This is Peanut Butter Brickle. When persons meet me, usually they tell me I am way bigger than they thought. I don’t know how to take it. Other than yeah. I am.
But other things we sure do build up in our minds. Anticipation has a way of making way for disappointment if we aren’t careful. Because what we think someone or some place should be, sometimes isn’t the reality. Sometimes it’s better.
Girl Person told me about something called a Venus Flytrap. She said it grows wild here in this North Carolina place.
We searched and searched on the trail for it. Looking for it. Girl Person said she has seen it in movies.
She has heard about it. And she thought it was big. So why weren’t we finding it in the woods? Was it that hard to spot?
We saw a ranger on the trail and he explained that they were small. But I bet the flies don’t think that they are small.
I was happy Girl and Boy Person got to learn about it. And I was happy to see it. It is so much fun finding out surprises of nature. It helps us to know we aren’t as smart as we think we are.
Not even me. There is so much to learn. There is never an end to that. But do we think too much of ourselves? Do we think that we know it all? Do we take the time to notice the small things? If we don’t, and we rely just on ourselves, that’s a trap. And not a small one. It’s a big trap.
You see, we are only a part of this earth. We are not the main part. Not even close. But we are the main reason of its troubles. For the Venus Flytrap, it is in trouble. Endangered.
What are other special things we haven’t taken notice of? Don’t let this world trap you into thinking the small things aren’t important. They are the biggest part of life.
