This is Fruitycake. We have had a lot of cleaning up to do here. The persons who lived here a long time ago apparently didn’t want to carry anything down the mountain.
I don’t blame them. What comes up here doesn’t come down. For a long time.
But the persons who used to live here also left some love. They showed how much they did care and love for this place by the stone walls and the flower beds they built to remain.
They showed they loved this place by making the little house to withstand time.
They also showed how much they loved it by planting flowers in the flower beds all those years ago. And even when they left, the bulbs remained under the soil. When Brickle passed away and we started cleaning out all the weeds and debris, we found all of those bulbs. And we replanted them. And guess what? We forgot. But the bulbs didn’t.
You may have guessed that the bulbs sprouted. The flowers started growing. And they are now blooming.
At a forgotten house, left by persons, and forgotten flowers left by persons, the flowers started growing again when the love came back.
Where the daffodils grow.
This healing house. Where love is rebuilding us and Brickle’s house.
I wonder if the persons who lived here so long ago would have thought it would be loved again.
That this house would symbolize a rescue dog’s unselfish journey and last adventure?
I can only think that where the daffodils grow is where we are all learning to love ourselves again. Together.
I bet that you have wondered if you can ever love yourself again after certain things happened to you. There is a time to appreciate the past and what it taught you.
But come you clear out those weeds, replant the love you have for yourself. Have a cookie if you need to.
Water it with tears and get it over with. Deal with or don’t. Just grow.
It’s there. The love that is you! Beneath it all.

We are only two persons and one dog trying to make a difference in the way animal rescue is perceived. We want the world to see how much each animal’s life is worth. And we want the world to see how much the people who do the work in shelters and rescues are worth.

But we are also taking it as a month by month commitment. This endeavor is costly for us to produce it every day without sponsors. It is. So if you feel compelled to tip here and there, we appreciate it. We also appreciate being able to put food on our table. Yes. We have a table now!
Month by month. So here is our drive for February. All tips for the remainder of the month go to supplies like necessities and groceries to be able to provide the blog and content and sharing of animal rescues on our pages. Content creators and writers all make their living thru their audience. And we think of our audience as friends. We never ever want anyone to give when they can’t. Or don’t want to. But if you think what we do and will do for February and 2025 is important, we thank you!
