I Said It Out Loud

This is Peanut Butter Brickle. Have you ever been afraid to say something? Fruitycake doesn’t have that problem.

What I’m talking about is have you ever been scared to say something out loud because you were afraid that it wouldn’t come true? Because you were afraid that if you said it, it would mean that you really, really wanted it? And you were afraid to be let down or that it wouldn’t come true? I get it.

There’s been a lot of talk about my health lately. And it’s exhausting to have all these things tried out on me. Yeah. It sure is. I admit that. It’s not that I mind. But not everything works as well as we want it to. Fruitycake always has a positive attitude and he says, well, then you try something else until you get it right. And he’s right.

I was thinking yesterday. Well, I’m always thinking. I was really thinking though. How I am not ready to not try. I AM ready to try harder than ever. I want to be the oldest dog ever. There. I said it. I said it out loud. And I won’t take it back.

Am I unrealistic? No. I am hopeful. Positive. I am determined.

And my opinion is that if you say something out loud that you want, you give yourself permission to strive hard to get that.

What if what you say doesn’t happen? The worse thing that can happen is that it doesn’t happen. Because trying and striving for a goal is wonderfully fulfilling. Creative.

You find strength you didn’t know you had. You come up with ideas. You focus.

You give yourself responsibility and permission at the same time.

I don’t claim to know it all. But I kinda do.

My years have been instructive. Don’t underestimate me. Or you. Or anyone. Just say it out loud what you want. Say it now.
