That’s The Night That The Lights Went Out In Georgia

This is Fruitycake The Raccoon. I’ve had to do without a lot in my life. I made due. I scraped by. I did it. But when you get used to the luxuries in life, like electricity, oh, it is sure hard to do without.

There was a pretty bad storm in this Georgia place. And we are in a cabin way up on a mountain.

So when the storm approached, and the lights started flickering on and off, I felt like John Travolta.

We were in the middle of celebrating our new house in that Italy place. And Boy Person was opening up a bottle of some fizzy stuff.

Girl Person has pasta on the stove. And then bye bye to the lights. To the hot water. To the stove. That’s the night that the lights went out in Georgia.

All night, it poured and rained and thundered and it was quite scary at times. Brickle was mad. I wanted to sleep. But it kept on an on. The next morning came and we still had no power.

And no coffee for the persons. So Girl Person’s suggestion was to just pretend like we were on vacation. We got in the car and braved the roads with rising creeks and trees down. We made it to town finally and let me tell you. We had such a fun day.

We explored. We ate. We laughed. Yes. Dogs laugh. Especially at persons and their so called problems.

The night that the lights went out in Georgia may have been inconvenient. But I think the storm was trying to tell us and remind us of something as we celebrated officially getting our little house in Italy. It reminded us things will be hard. Things won’t be convenient. It will be a struggle. There will be many nights with no power. Nothing to light us up but our sense of humor. And we better get used to it.

Life has a way of preparing us if we listen. If you want something like we want a different way of life in that Italy place, you have to realize change means change! Don’t expect things to be easy. But expect that it will be worth the journey.
