Accepting Help Is A Strength

This is Peanut Butter Brickle. I had a great privilege yesterday. I was able to wear Digby Pancake’s old harness. The last one that he used. And it still had some of his fur in it.

Some would argue that it wasn’t a happy occasion that I needed to wear the harness and that I needed help. But I felt differently. I was honored to accept help. I was honored to be able to follow in Digby’s paw steps.

And I know, I absolutely know, that accepting help is a strength. It is not a weakness.

Some would also wonder if I truly wanted to see that waterfall we went to yesterday. There were two flights of steps. And they were metal. At first we turned around. But I pulled the persons back. I really wanted to go up. And I knew they would help me. They always do. And they did. So did Digby’s harness. And after we were done, Fruitycake and I celebrated so much.

We were laughing and happy. Because I wasn’t the only one that needed help on that hike.

When we don’t accept the help that we want, we miss out. It’s one thing of we don’t want to do something. But I did. And it was either accept help, or we wouldn’t see the waterfall. What are you missing out on because you won’t accept help?

If we are fortunate to have others to help us, don’t waste it. Some need help and cannot get it. Accepting help is its own kind of strength. Digby taught me that.
