This is Peanut Butter Brickle. We have had to ask for a lot of help this week. We have had to ask for help not from friends, but from strangers. And I wonder which is easier to do.

First, we had to ask for help because a very big part broke underneath the RV. And although I am convinced that Boy Person can fix anything, he didn’t have the tools for this job.
Then, we had to ask for help for Fruitycake. His allergies came back, and he needed a shot. We had to ask to be fit in at the last minute at a vet person that we didn’t know and who didn’t know us.
Both of these things required that we ask for help. Because there was no way to do it on our own. Sure. Friends are there for you in your time of need. But often, it is easier to ask for help from strangers. I wonder why. And I thought about it. And seems to me that when we ask for help from strangers, we aren’t afraid of being judged. We aren’t afraid of being viewed as less. Because they don’t know us.

I don’t know why persons are afraid to ask for help when they need it the most. We all live on the same earth. We all know the problems we can face. We know that none of us are perfect. If you aren’t judging someone, why are you sure that they are judging you?

As I have gotten older, I may need help to get up a hill. Or down the stairs. But it doesn’t make me less. And in fact, it helps others to accept their help. We all want to feel needed. And when you need help, ask. When you can give help, give.

We are back on the road today to wherever we can find reservations! Stay tuned.
