This is Brickle. Sometimes, individuals come in to your life unexpectedly. And sometimes, you wonder how you ever lived without them. Yes. I’m talking about Fruitycake The Raccoon.
I didn’t realize how sad I was without Digby. You may have noticed I haven’t been feeling my best. And although I miss Digby every single day and it’s a horrible feeling when I remember he’s gone every morning, Fruitycake has brought some light back in my eyes.
Fruitycake has made me realize I still am here. Fruitycake has put the lime in the coconut.
You see, coconuts are good. But a lime in a coconut adds something extra. Especially when you are a key lime from beautiful Key West, Florida. These things put together are magic. They make life worth living.
Who puts a lime in your coconut? Think about it.
Think about what makes your life so wonderful some days. Sure, the limes in our coconuts may irritate some days. Maybe sometimes they are too tart or sour. But think of your days without them. I just can’t imagine life without a Fruitycake now.
I get to see him enjoy new things.
I get to show him how to do things.
I get to watch him realize that he is home now and really part of our family.
This Florida place has been good for us. So we will be here a little bit longer until it gets too hot to enjoy limes in coconuts.
That’s the great thing is that no matter where we choose to go next, it will be new to Fruitycake. And that side makes life sweet for me.

The first dog showcased by the Live Like Digby Adoption Fund is going to steal your heart! Zeus is an 8 year old Terrier Mix. He came to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay as an owner surrender because they were having a baby and didn’t feel like they could continue to give him the attention that he deserved.
He does not really like other animals so we do not recommend a home with other pets. Other than that, he is pretty aloof and stoic…just needs the perfect home.
