This is Fruitycake. Every day is a surprise here in this Italy place. One day I think that my favorite food is spaghetti, and the next day I think its pizza. Then the day after that, it’s ravioli. And then focaccia. And then I get really confused on what is it favorite and I have to start all over to sample each one to remember.
What is also a surprise is how many things we don’t know about. Everything is so overwhelming some days. On top of all the simple tasks we have to do to survive here at our house, there is the language we don’t fully understand.
There are animals and wildlife we don’t know about. Yes, even the snakes here are chasing Boy Person on a daily basis and that’s a new thing for us! They rise up like they are dancing and then they chase you!
Yes, snakes are one surprise. The cherry tree is another. We kept seeing cherries on the path, but we thought persons were just dropping them. We never looked up. And yesterday, we finally saw it. A big cherry tree loaded with cherries. How many times had we passed by all of those delicious cherries? Uncountable times! Then we started wondering what else we were passing by!
There are so many things to notice that are good around us! The sunshiney and breeze and the food we are fortunate to have. Pizza is my favorite today. Yes. That’s my decision.
But often, the obvious things are what we notice. Not the real parts of life.
Some persons have commented that because our plans to help animals and wildlife on our land here is in Italy, it doesn’t matter to them. Because they live somewhere else. They don’t see the point. They are passing right by it. Yes, we are in Italy.
But our plans to do all we do to reach people and teach people extend all over the world! Our videos and our stories and our conversations will extend way beyond this land. As it always has. My persons told me they spent 7 years visiting shelters and rescues in every state in that United States place.
So you can imagine they saw and learned so much to share with the world.
They saw the different ways persons did things and how different shelters help each other. An animal doesn’t know what a state is or a country. Thinking that somehow they mean less because they aren’t in front of us is very narrow! You pass right by that cherry tree of knowledge and helping every day.
It’s time for my persons to get us a little more comfortable here and work hard to make a difference again! No, this all won’t happen overnight. But I know just like the cherry tree, that my purpose here is important. Brickle didn’t get us all here for nothing.
I chose to pick something to do every day for someone close to me and someone far away. Why? We are all’on this earth together with our own cherry trees to pick from. And there’s a lot we can do together.
