This is Peanut Butter Brickle. Since I’m pretty much the boss around here, and everywhere, I felt it was my job to tell you we are hitting the road today. Rocky Face, Georgia to White Plains, New York. Here. We. Go. This is happening. This is really happening. But we won’t get there in one day. No. Today’s stop is Bristol, Tennessee.

I feel very melancholy about leaving here. We have a lot of memories at our friends’ house. They let us stay here many times.

And it was a wonderful place to call home for a little while. Family isn’t always blood related.

It’s very hard to say goodbye. I just don’t like it. So I won’t say goodbye to Juneau and Ellie.

I won’t say goodbye to the barn. I love that barn.

I won’t say goodbye to my person friends.

Time on this earth is short. For all of us. And there is no reason to waste a second saying goodbye.
Instead of saying goodbye, I think it’s better to tell someone what they mean to you. I think it’s better to tell someone thank you.

I think it’s better to tell someone everything that needs to be said. Not goodbye.

None of us know what life is truly all about. Yes. Us dogs think about that too. All we can do is keep going in the directions that make us better. Whether that’s a move. Or a job. Or a change of any kind. Don’t go in the direction that makes you go backwards.

So. Here we go. This next week and a half is going to be a blur. But if we pass thru your town, I’ll say hello. And not goodbye. Here we go! Are you ready?
