This is Peanut Butter Brickle. There’s a few times in my life that I’ve been fortunate to announce some news. News is a wonderful thing if it’s good.
I got to announce when we decided to travel to animal rescues in the USA in an RV.

I got to announce when we bought a little house in that Italy place.
And today, I get to announce something else. We’re leaving. Leaving on a jet plane.
You know that we have had our share of setbacks. First, we were going to take a big ship to get over to that Italy place. But because it was going to take a week to get there, well, the persons cancelled the trip. They didn’t think that my legs could be in a crate for a week. And I was so glad. So glad they decided against that. I would have been a trooper. I am a superdog. You know that.

But the persons said no house anywhere is worth my discomfort. Even for a little while.

So we tried to figure out solutions. Waiting on flights here. And there. Flights cancelled. Here and there. It was getting very frustrating. So much so, in fact, that the persons wondered if it was meant to be at all. And with my health problems, we just waited. Moving around and around and around in Slow Ride the car. Because we sold our big truck for the house in Italy!
Then, some longtime friends of ours decided to make a plane for dogs. Yes. For dogs. We’ve known these dog people for many years. We even used to make treats to put in their boxes when they first started!

These are people who understand that dogs should not have to be in discomfort or worse for hours and hours.
So. Here’s the news. On May 30th, we will be leaving on a jet plane. With Girl Person on Bark Air!
Now, don’t worry. Boy Person will be going on a regular plane. We will just be separated for a little while. But he will be there to meet us. We will be flying from New York to London, England. No. It’s not Italy. But that is where the flight went to. And that’s what we make work.

When we get to England, we will be staying in one place for a month at least to get our bearings before making the adventure to Italy. It’s kinda gonna be like the traveling old days. But different. And now I’m old. Sorry. That was obvious. But being old hasn’t changed my attitude. Or desire to travel.

I know this is a lot to take in at once. But I know that if I’m going to make this trip, I go when I feel good. Yes. The Vet Person said AOK!

I get in the most fun and comfortable way possible. And Girl Person even has someone to help her on the plane. I will be treated like the senior dog I am. Royalty.
This is the first transatlantic flight on Bark Air. And I’ll be one of the first traveling dogs on it! Seems like everything has come full circle. The way that it should be. I’m almost bark less.

The only thing missing from my flight will be having Digby with me.

But Digby, I’m doing this for you too. We started this traveling life to make a difference for rescue dogs.
I’m showing that a senior dog can go anywhere. A senior dog and all dogs should never be left behind. Not when persons have little persons. Not when persons move. Never. And this flight is part of my story. Our story. You’ll be with me. Let’s do this.
