This is Girl Person. For over a decade, when we go thru trials in life, I write about them and tell them to you in real time. It hasn’t always worked out doing that! Negative comments and judgment are more plentiful now. But I don’t do this platform and blog for those people. I do it for the few that need us. And the many animals that need every bit of help to survive.
I hesitated, as usual, to tell our audience about the latest developments in our lives. But maybe, it will help someone struggling with health issues, decisions to make, or thinking about giving up. Don’t give up. If I’m not giving up, you can’t either
As you know, I currently have extreme health issues relating from ruptured implants leaking into my body. I have barely been able to function, much less climb this mountain each day. On top of that, my true love of animal rescue is a lot of work behind the scenes. That’s ok! I keep going!
Additionally, I keep going for Fruitycake. He deserves his own story, legacy and life beyond this website, social platforms and blog. He’s a real dog with real needs and feelings. I have one chance to do this right for him, no matter what is happening to me. And Fruity is the main reason I continue.

Yesterday we had quite a shock. We were informed a mistake “could have been made” allowing us to stay in Italy with our paperwork. Due to political drama, beyond our control or yours, it’s affecting our lives here and causing unneeded stress, with decisions being made for immigration even here. What a shock this all was, and one we could not have foreseen. It’s unheard of.
I have surgery scheduled in the states due to financially it being cheaper and the language barrier. Now, more stress is added for flights being cancelled, and the problems I may incur getting back to Italy because of governments.
The last month also due to world economic turmoil, we have had very limited and reduced support as well. We are all affected. And just like anyone with a job, none of us can work for free to feed our families. Fruity also deserves for him to be a real priority in that regard.
So this weekend, we have to take a step back to gather our thoughts, and our resolve to be able to help animals in the best way. Not just the way we may want to, or the way that we think we should. We may need to go about this different or go back to how we did it to start!
You may have read a blog this week about “Gary” a gecko we found and tried to help as he was injured. Yesterday, even with the shock of the news about our paperwork, I didn’t cry. I did cry when Gary passed away. That showed me right there that what and who is important to us are the ones who need us. We will make it thru this. We have some tough decisions ahead and we will explain them to you in real time. We ask for grace, support if you want to at the links below and for prayers.
Fruity, health and helping others is what we have to focus on and make quick decisions here next week. We will never give up on what Brickle and Digby started. And if we have to make hard decisions we hope you’ll be here. For the ones who love you and need you, like us, keep going too! We can do this, but we need a few days to make decisions in peace. We know you have questions, so we hope to have more information and answers next week. Problems are opportunities to grow and change. Whatever it takes, we will do this.
