This is Fruitycake.  There is power in numbers, they say.  I don’t know who “they” are.  They say a lot, but half the time I don’t know what persons are talking about.

That’s ok, because a lot of us dogs feel the same way.  We may not understand persons fully, but it’s only because we have a higher power of perception and understanding of the world.  We see it all, but persons only see things as persons.  Us dogs are real lucky that way.

In fact, I myself was looking at some lillies growing here at the rustico.  First there was one, then there was two.  Then there was three and four.  But then today, it’s back to two.  Then, there were two.

The interesting thing is, I only noticed their numbers because of the bees and butterflies around them.

I noticed how it didn’t matter if there was one or two or three or four lilies.  The bugs still visited.  The bugs still needed them.  The bugs appreciated them as individual flowers.  Not a whole bunch.

You see, we have to think of other individuals like that too.  The world isn’t made up of countries, it’s people in those countries.  People live, love, have joy, have sorrow and have families in every place on the earth.  If persons continue to think of others as countries or numbers, how dangerous that is.  It becomes easier to ignore others, or to hate them.  Can you imagine? It is easier to not value others when we think there is a lot of them.  But there never truly is.  One, two  three, four.  All important.

I love how the rustico and the earth here teaches me to teach you! I think that’s pretty cool.

But my persons got some shocking and very unexpected news last week we may not have permission to stay because of governments and persons not getting along.  And it hurts.

But what we absolutely know is that our purpose to teach and rescue and protect those who can’t speak remains with us.  Wherever we have to go. They have been sad and worried and sick.  But I’m not.  Because we will go where we are needed and fight for others. We won’t continue to fight papers and turmoil.  Life is too short and too wonderful to get side tracked.

We don’t know what we will do yet.  But we do know it will be ok.  It may be down to us three.  But we’ve got this.

And we have the power in numbers in this case of our 2 Traveling Dogs family.  And just like the bees and butterflies  visit the lilies for strength and joy, so you are to us.
