This is Peanut Butter Brickle. Age isn’t just a number, no matter what others tell you. There’s a reason we keep track of the numbers.
At the end of April, I will be 15 in human years. Who knows how old in dog years. Us dogs have our own system. To us, age isn’t something to be ashamed of.
We can count. But we count our blessings.
Age isn’t something to to fight against. Age to us is a work of art.
It takes a long time to get this good looking. This smart. Age to a dog is truly a masterpiece.
What I don’t understand is that we all want to live long and happy lives. But we are embarrassed about our age. We do everything we can to hide it.
Well, this may be hard to believe. But I’m proud of my years. And I’m also thankful to be here. I’m even thankful for exactly where I am. Right now.
Not many individuals get to have the privilege of being old.

Would I like to find the fountain of youth? I hear that it is in this St. Augustine, Florida place.
If I could have wisdom with health, well, I would take it. But I’ll also take where I am now.

Because I am grateful. No matter where you are in your work of art, your age…keep painting.
