The Weight Of The Wait

This is Peanut Butter Brickle. Have you ever had to wait for something and you didn’t want to? I love watching you persons when you order food at a restaurant. Your eyes get bigger and bigger, just waiting for that lasagna to get to you. Oh. Lasagna. I love lasagna.

But maybe sometimes you have to wait for something that you don’t want. Right now, we have to wait to know if this lump monster in my mouth is a cancer monster. The weight of waiting is really heavy.

We also have to wait to meet our rescue house in that Italy place.

But really. That kind of waiting isn’t even close to waiting for the phone call from the vet person.

Last Wednesday I had my surgery. And they took some of that lump monster. They told us that it would be 7-10 days before we found out who he is. Before we find out what he wants. Before we can figure out what to do next.

Girl Person says that she doesn’t like to wait. But she also doesn’t like bad news. And she says sometimes it’s tempting to not find out. And to live in the dark instead.

But really, I find the weight of the wait is the worst. I would rather know what I’m dealing with than not know. How does it help to not know? The problem is still there. And when you finally face it or you have to face it, it may be too late to do anything about it. Don’t be like Girl Person in this situation. Even if it’s bad news, knowledge is power. You have more options when you know. What do you need to deal with?

If I can face this, you can too. The weight of waiting may be heavy. And you may feel like the weight of the actual world is on your shoulders. But you can face your fears. You can take that weight, deal with it and move on or move forward to healing. I may have to wait 7-10 days for this news. But you have the opportunity now. Don’t ignore the weight.

Our prayers and love are surrounding you Brickle. Think positively about it and the outcome. Hopeful that they can get it out and then some kind of treatment plan and then the big boat to that Italy place with all kinds of pastas yum yum. 🐾❤️🙏

Your journey is so real and touching. If only every animal in our world experienced the love you offer. In the end, whenever that may be, you have given him a joyful life. Know that truth and let it surround you.
