Expectations And Opinions

This is Fruitycake The Raccoon. Today is the day that we are going to go to Niagara Falls! Can you believe the time is finally here?! In some days, it seemed liked forever the time that it took to get here.

But in other ways, it seems like we just fold you about our planned adventure.

I don’t know really want to expect today. And honestly, and I’m always as honest as a raccoon, I would rather not know much. It seems to me that when you have expectations of someone or something, you can’t fully embrace the moment. You can’t fully understand the place or person. Because you’ve already formed an opinion.

We are all human, you know. We want to be wowed. And we want to experience so many things. But what is the point of experiences when you’ve already planned exactly how you want them to make you feel?

It’s time to live in the now. And fully see, really open your eyes. See what and who is before you. Not what you think that they should be.

So today, when I see the water and the magic before me, I’ll be seeing it with fresh and fruity eyes. I’ll be seeing it for the first time. And you know what? So will Brickle!

Because this is something we can share together.

As many places as he has been, he hasn’t been here. And wow, does that make me feel like expectations won’t mean a thing. Seeing it together, for the first time and not knowing what it will be will be a memory I’ll always have.

Expectations have a way of making us disappointed. When we are kind and let others be who they are without expecting them to benefit us in some way, we will appreciate them.

And appreciation is way better than expectations. Ok! Let’s go to Niagara Falls!
