The Eternal Presence Of Dogs

This is Digby Pancake. Some days you may want to remember more than others. Maybe it is the day you were born.

Maybe it is the day you got married.

Maybe it is the day you brought your furkid home.

No matter what the day is, you want to remember it because something special happened that day. But imagine if you didn’t have to or want to remember any certain day. Wouldn’t every day be special?

You know I have been sick.

And I am still not feeling good. The persons say that it will take some time to feel better. I don’t know how long of a time. But every day when I get up, I forget the bad one before it. I have a clean slate. Anything could happen!

It’s a chance to have a good day because it is another day. Another special day.

Imagine if you didn’t have to remember your past. It wouldn’t make you sad. It wouldn’t be on your shoulders to carry around.

If you are with us, and you go inside, even if for a moment, when you come back, it is special.

If you go take a shower and come back out a few minutes later or an hour like Boy Person, it sure is a time to be celebrated.

Dogs look forward to each moment. Because each moment is special. An eternal moment is what we have. And wouldn’t persons do good from learning that?

You may be all ready to start a new year on a calendar because you had bad times this year. But instead of wishing for an official start over, how about doing that now? Treat every day like a game of life you want to win.

Will I feel better today? I don’t know. But I do know that I am happy I am here. And you should be too.

Make the most of the moments we have. That means all of them.

I remember when you were extremely sick about two years ago. We were all so worried about you, and it took you a while to get back “up to speed.” If your crisis has passed and you’re on the mend, It might take a while for you to feel normal. After all, when you’re a “senior,” (don’t tell anyone, but I’m considered a “senior citizen,” the human term for kinda oldish), sometimes it takes longer to get well, and even after you’re well, you’re not as “well” as you were when you were a kid. We’re still praying for you to feel better so you can go on your walks. But, Dude! You gotta stop eating foul stuff you find on the ground. I think it’s time for Girl Person to put a muzzle on you so you won’t eat strange stuff. You have inner parts that really don’t like that. Another part about getting old… you have to stop eating junk food! Get well, Digby! We love your smiling face.
