This is Deputy Digby Pancake. Persons have told me before that I am a breath of fresh air. That’s before they get to know me and smell the air sometimes.
Persons have told Sheriff Brickle that he looks strong. Like a tiger.
And then they get to know him and realize he is afraid of pelicans.Yes. A tiger afraid of pelicans.
He’s also afraid of other stuff which I am not allowed to mention. He won’t be a captain of any ship anytime soon.
What do others notice about you? Are you a breath of fresh air? Strong? What shines ahead of you? What do you radiate?
We had a chance to visit a lighthouse in that Carrabelle, Florida place. It was quite tall. And the museum said it had been there a long time.
Boy Person climbed all the way to the top. We happily waited below. You know. It’s one of those things that you like to hear a story about. And not actually do it.
Boy Person said the view was great. And it made him realize how important lighthouses can be.
Sometimes it can mean the difference between light or death. In the darkness, lighthouses are a guiding light to shore and to safety. Are you like a lighthouse?
It’s easy to get caught up in our own storms and darkness. But there is always someone more lost than you. In a day of darkness for someone down, your light that shines could save their life. One smile. One kind word. Yes. You have that power.
When we are a light to others, it helps us shine too. I would say it is easier than being a breath of fresh air. In my experience, anyways.
We arrived in Cedar Key, Florida last night. Stay tuned for our adventures.
