Being Shaped By Life’s Storms

This is Sheriff Peanut Butter Brickle. What is the weather like where you live? Is it hot? Cold? Rainy? What about windy?

This Florida place gets a lot of wind sometimes.

Sometimes the wind is so strong here that it bends the trees and plants. Sometimes, the wind may even uproot them. This doesn’t happen just one time or one day. But many days and many months and many years.

And over time? It shapes them. It bends them.

Or maybe sometimes it breaks them. You can look out at the beach here and see them all. Their beauty has been made more pronounced by what they have weathered. It’s like a painting of sorts.

I thought of how nature always teaches us something about ourselves if we pay attention. How can trees and wind make US stronger?

We all go thru problems. It seems like we have had so many lately. Maybe you have too. When those stormy days come, you want them to pass quickly. Sometimes they do. But sometimes they just don’t.

When the storms are over, it’s time to clean up. Dry out. But we may have changed. We may be bent. Weathered. But we survive.

But have you looked at a landscape shaped by storms and the wind? What do you see?

Differences. Beauty. Individuality. No tree is the same. And you? You’ve been shaped too. We all have. It makes you who you are.

It’s ok to realize that what we have been thru will shape us. We must remember that we are who we are because of what we have survived. We are stronger, we can help build others up, stronger, and help them to grow tall.

It’s when we try to ignore the storms and don’t bend that the pressure can break us. Just like every tree is important, so is every person. My forecast for you is happiness for the person you are. No matter how you’ve been shaped.

Windy day today. Enjoy your stories. We do need to bend with our circumstances and go with where we are lead. Have a great Thursday.
