This is Fryitycake. I’m writing to you with wet paws today. It’s raining cats, dogs, lizards, birds, alligators and even jellyfish.
Yesterday, Girl Person was able to get a few things for the storm. Mostly things for me. A dog always has to have extra treats to be prepared for any situation.
But the situation today? Of course. Of course it had to happen. The electric bike we have been waiting on for a month (the third one we have ordered) says to be delivered. Again. TODAY…during the extreme rain warning we have. Of course, bike company. Of course.
And as I was writing this, the persons were literally running down the path.
They were given a window of 12-2. Boy Person stationed himself outside the parking lot at the only entrance. Girl Person was on the main road watching all cars in and out.
And that’s when she saw it. A white van with no sign. But there is not many vans that drive into the neighborhood. And so she ran after it, only to see it turn around and leave the parking lot.
That’s when she got a message that said delivery unsuccessful. Girl Person was not about to let this happen.
Boy Person had watched the van too, and had the same feeling. So they both took off running together after it. They caught it. They caught it, I tell you.
The driver looked at them like they were absolutely crazy. Which they were at this point. But when Boy Person asked him if they had a package for us, he said yes, he had tried to deliver it.
Now. There is no sense in arguing sometimes. Sometimes, you just say, hey. Get it and go. And so when he said how are you going to get it up the mountain, Boy Person said “Mia moglie”. My wife. He looked at them like they were crazy yet again.

But they got that package off the street and put it together right there. Somehow, the rain stopped just long enough for them to get to together and up the path too. Sometimes, the wrong situations at the wrong time end up being the right thing in the long run.

So, now, we are one step closer to being able to get more supplies and make trips on our bike to town when we need to for rescue projects and groceries. It took a long time. But being patient here is our goal.

Sometimes, we want to give up on a situation. We have wanted to give up here so many times. Including today.

And sometimes we may want to give up on ourselves. We have wanted to do that too. Some people told us not to do this. To move here. And they were right. Some people told us we needed and should move here. And they were right. There are many ways to look at situations, but when it comes down to it, we make the decisions that cause us to dig deep. We make decisions to lead us to our own, individual and important purpose. Of course, we won’t give up. We don’t want you to either.

This is Fruitycake. Some days, despite whatever storm you are going thru, you just have to smile and appreciate where you are, how far you have come, and that you are still trying. We are still trying, but some days is harder than others. Today is one of those days. But smiling? We can do that!
If you would like to help with filling my pantry for the rainy season, I eat a lot. I’m just letting you know. Here’s the link but I can’t type

Your blog messages are always right on time. I’ve felt like giving up so many times this week, and your blog has made me see how much I have to appreciate and to take each day in little increments. I may not have done anything on my to-do list, however, I did get myself out of bed and dressed, took care of my pups, ate at a reasonable hour, and was able to feel joy watching the hummingbirds flit around. It may not have been a lot in someone else’s eyes, but it was for me, and I appreciate all that I was able to accomplish. Thank you for allowing me to see my day in a different light. 💕
YAY, YAY!!!!!! You got the bike!!!! Wonderful news!!!
