This is Peanut Butter Brickle. I’ve lived many days.
I try to tell Fruitycake about some of those days. Especially on long road trips like yesterday.
But I also tell Fruitycake that even though we are headed on a big adventure that the days he’s lived so far are just as important. No one day is more important than another. That’s the way I live.
Yesterday, we had to say goodbye to our person friends and Ellie and Juneau.
It was very hard to say goodbye this time. This goodbye meant a lot. To all of us. Emotions sometimes get built up in my heart. Then they go to my eyes. And when they finally come out, it’s like a waterfall I can’t stop. And shouldn’t stop.
As hard as it was to leave everyone, we had to. We have to get to that New York place. And so we drove. And we stopped for a break. And then, we found ourselves at a new house to stay at for the night. It had other persons when their own lives in this corner of the earth. It had other dogs with their own house. And their own lives. And we just stepped right in their day.
They were very welcoming to us. And we got settled in for a night of rest and sleep.
I have to say that I’ve met so many individuals. And one thing that sticks out to me is always in my mind. We can meet someone for just a few minutes and judge them. We think we know it all. But we don’t. No one is more important than another. No day in life is more important than another.
A day in life is more valuable than you know.
No matter what your struggles are today, this is a day. Take a little piece of it and see the good. You’ll never get this day back. Don’t wait to celebrate a day you’re supposed to think is special. This day is just as wonderful.
Today, we will be making our way to Front Royal, Virginia. It’s a very, very long day of driving. But I have a feeling we will take a few breaks. Find a few snacks. And maybe, just maybe, have a little celebration on the way.
