This is Peanut Butter Brickle. Have you ever tried to grow something? Girl Person loves to plant things. She used to have a garden with Pappy and they grew sweet potatoes and broccoli and all kinds of things! Fruitycake would have loved it.
Maybe you’ve tried to grow something too. Like a better way of life. Or motivation to be healthy. Maybe you’ve tried to grow courage to make a big or even a small change.
We’ve all tried to grow something. We all have a garden inside our minds. And it’s secret to each one of us. We all have a secret garden. I do too.
I find that the more you think about something, the more it gets bigger and grows in our minds. That can be negative thoughts. Definitely. Negative thoughts can get so big that it doesn’t allow anything else to grow. At all. They get lost.
What in my secret garden? It’s the fact that I’ve accepted I am older. All i can do now is be thankful for each day. I cannot get my youth back. I cannot turn back time. It’s not going to happen.
Because I’ve accepted that, I don’t have to take care of unrealistic goals. But I can help my positivity to grow. I can be the me I am now.
What is your secret garden? Maybe you have a burden to bear that only you know about. You have your own weeds to pull every day. I’m sorry.
But I also know you can be the best you that you can be.
You can nurture your spirit and be happy in your daily victories. You can still have a beautiful garden. Yes. You can.
Life isn’t all roses.
Sometimes the garden grows Brussel sprouts. Water what’s important in the secret garden of your mind. And watch what flourishes.
