The Letters

This is Peanut Butter Brickle. Some persons may think that dogs don’t know how to read. But they also think we can’t see colors. So what do they know?

Girl Person said that Gandma and Gandpa were coming over this weekend. They did.

And they brought lunch and we all sat around and talked. Well, Fruitycake and I just listened.

You see, it was kind of a “see ya later”. We are headed out of the farm on Wednesday.

And we are going to start heading north to be ready if we can go to that Italy place. I feel like many changes are on the horizon.

And it’s exciting and scary all at the same time. When you add letters to all of that, it also brings many emotions to the surface. Yes. Letters. Girl Person was given letters by the ones who will miss her the most.

I heard that persons used to write things down a lot more in the past. Now they use those computer things a lot.

But when I saw those letters from Gandma and Gandma and a letter from Girl Person’s friend, I knew they were special. Because when someone takes the time to write down their thoughts and feelings for you to see, it’s official. It can’t be taken back. And it’s needed sometimes in this busy world.

Some persons, like Girl Person, have a harder time expressing how they feel out loud. The written word is an alternative to being open and feeling how you need to. And a way to let others know. If I could write a letter that persons would understand, oh, I would. But they would place in the history books like Shakespeare.

Letters are sometimes hard to read. Hard to even open the envelope. It sure was for Girl Person. She is used to blocking out things in order to get thru a day. But this time, she owed it to herself to read the words she needed to hear. That she would be missed when we go to to that Italy place.

Do you need to write down your words for someone? Do you need to write it down for you too? We all express and communicate how we feel differently. So be patient with others. Be patient with yourself.

Say the words, write the words, even sing the words. Say what you need to say. Leave no words unsaid. Or even unbarked.
