Digby Would Like That

This is Fruitycake The Raccoon. I’m just a little guy with a big dislike of water. I just want to get that out there. I do not like that.

But what I do hear is what Digby Pancake would have liked. I never met Digby. So is it possible to think of someone at a place he never visited? The answer is yes. I’m starting to learn more about Digby and what he liked. I know about the food he liked.  The places.  The music. He sure loved the classics.

And the mountains here and the streams and the waterfalls? Digby would like that.

I haven’t known love for long. But I’m starting to learn just how powerful it can be. You can love someone with some of your heart. But when you love with all of your heart, it can hurt when you lose them. It can be the worst feeling you’ve ever had.

You can wonder if you can live without them. And I see that you can. Because my family loves Digby so much. And they live. They are still here. But I see it’s learning each and every day how to survive without that one you lost. Over and over. But you have to keep going. Digby would like that for them.

And I’m here to help.

I know my dislike of water may or may not go away. But my family trying to help me learn won’t go away either. just like the mountains change the earth, the earth changes the mountains. Digby changed my family. My family changed Digby. I changed my family by giving them something to help me with. My family changed me by teaching me what love is.

There immense love for Digby doesn’t make their love for me less.

We were trying to stay away from places the persons and Brickle had been with Digby because the memories were too much for them. But then, they realized there was no place that wouldn’t remind them of him. There was no place they went they didn’t want him to see. He was everywhere. He is everywhere. Because he is in our hearts. Even mine. I sit on his side of the truck seat. And I don’t take that lightly.

If you miss someone, you may wonder if you can go on. And the truth is, I see you don’t go on in the same way. Is it possible to miss someone somewhere they never were? Yes. Because if you carry their memory with you, they are there too.

Yes it is hard to see places you once went with your prior pet or human… remember the memories and always make new ones with your furry and human friends 🙂🐕‍🦺❤🐾
