It Doesn’t Happen On TV

This is Peanut Butter Brickle. What’s your favorite show?

My favorite show is the dinner show. When Girl Person is the most relaxed at night, she is happy. She has some wine. She makes some dinner for the persons. And I always feel like I’m at a 4 paw restaurant.

Digby’s favorite show is the breakfast show. He sits by the door of the RV because he knows that he is going to get some good food after Girl Person makes it. She brings it outside and we eat alfresco. And this show never gets old.

But the persons watch different kinds of shows. A lot of persons stare at a big box on the wall with moving pictures and talking. The images aren’t real but they are still there anyway.

You may find this hard to believe. But we haven’t turned on one of those TV boxes in our house on wheels for five years. I’m serious. There’s been no need to. In fact, Boy Person even took them out of the Big Blue Treat Wagon at the beginning.

But now, we have a different and fancy schmancy house on wheels that came with some really big boxes. And Girl Person thought she was feeling a little fancy too. And she thought she missed her shows.

When you used to like something and your tastes change, you may wonder how you ever liked it in the first place. But that’s ok. It’s ok to change. It’s ok to like new things. It’s ok to be different.

There’s nothing wrong with that TV box. But for Girl Person, she realized maybe she used it in the past to fill other voids. Maybe she didn’t like her own company so much. Maybe she didn’t want to think at all.

Sometimes being alone with ourselves is hard. It may take an adjustment to learn that if it doesn’t happen on TV, it’s happening in real time. In real life.

Never take for granted the entertainment and possibilities that are within you.
