This is Fruitycake. There are things the persons say here on a daily basis. It’s almost guaranteed you’ll hear them all on rotation.
“Are you ok?!” This phrase is uttered by both the persons to each other many times a day. It is the most used of all the phrases. It has been used this week when Girl Person fell down stairs to the waterfall.
It’s been used today when Boy Person had to carry up supplies with a very hurt foot.
It’s been used today for me when I ate too much grass and threw up.

But another phrase we like is “what was that?!” Well, we don’t like it. But it’s the facts that it will be uttered at least once a day. And yesterday?! Wow. This phrase took on new meaning. Girl Person was taking a shower. Or as they say here in Italy, making a shower.
Boy Person had just sat down on the little couch and that’s when a huge bang and boom and ba da bang boom happened. Girl Person yelled, “are you ok?!” Boy Person yelled, “yeah, are you ok?!” And neither one of them got too excited. Because everyone, including me, was ok.

Girl Person got dressed and asked Boy Person what it was. He said he didn’t know. He had looked for ten seconds and didn’t see anything, so he sat down again. She said ten seconds? He proclaimed he was too tired to look any longer.
Yeah. When so many things happen on a daily basis, you can only ask “what was that?!” so many times until you aren’t in a rush to find out, because something else will cause you to ask it again. And it did. Because as Girl Person was upstairs, she heard it. A huff. A puff.
She heard it again. A huff. A puff. A growl. Another one. She said to herself, “what the HECK was that?!” And when she turned around, the drawers to her dresser were open. How did that happen?
She was afraid to look in there. But she did. Nothing. Nothing except her confusion.

What was that? We don’t know. The loud noises, the growling the huffing and puffing. The everything.
So I guess we will just wait today to see what else pops up, falls down or whatever. Sometimes you don’t have answers. Only questions.
And well, such is life. Such is living. And you just have to carry on.

Hi friends — we need your help to keep our animal rescue blog going!
Since 2011, we’ve been sharing stories of hope, rescue, and second chances — all to shine a light on the animals who need us most. Our blog has always been free to read and full of heart, and we’ve loved building this community with you over the years.
But now, we’re reaching out because we need your support.
It costs about $1,000 a month to keep the blog running — covering internet, phone, equipment, and the time it takes to research, write, and share each animal’s story. So far this month, we’ve raised just $134.78.
If our blog has ever touched your heart, made you cheer for a rescue, or reminded you how much animals matter — please consider making a donation to help us keep going. Every dollar helps us continue to speak up for those who can’t speak for themselves.

How the hell could you just ignore the noises of some kind of creature in your house? I think I’d be the hell out of there in a hurry! You guys are so much braver than I would ever be! I am definitely a scary little person! My sisters took pleasure in scaring me when we were much younger. Hope you find your noisy creature.
