The Golden Hour

This is Fruitycake. When Girl Person sleeps, she really sleeps. And she snores. She really snores.

She also screams upon occasion. You know, that type of scream that is only in horror movies. Boy Person and I have fallen out of bed more times than I can explain.

Since Brickle passed away last year though, Girl Person has only had dreams with him in them three times. Two of those times were this week. And last night, when he visited her in her dreams, he had a lot to say, in his Brickle way.

He was in her dream young and strong. He even rolled over for her to scratch his belly. And he never did that. That would not have been Brickle like. But last night, in her dream, he was happy to have scratches and love. His Brickle brindle coat was bright and shiny like when he was a puppy.

He told Girl Person that he wanted her to know that he was only old in years for a short time. That most of his life, he was young. And that he didn’t want to be remembered as an old dog. He wanted to be remembered for who he was inside. He said that she had to hear him, and to listen. He said that she was in her golden hour. And it was time to enjoy it. That he didn’t get her to Italy for no reason.

To stop seeing what was wrong and hard and to keep focused. This was her golden hour of life.

This was very deep to her and she woke up and wrote it down quickly so that she wouldn’t forget. It was so real to her that she knew she had to listen.

Yes, this is her golden hour. A time of life that she can feel confident in that she belongs here. That she has a purpose and Brickle had a purpose and Digby too. To get her to this golden hour where everything will make sense, IF she keeps going forward.

Some days it’s hard for us here to see beyond the hardships. But when we step back, we can see that there must, there absolutely must be a reason we got here.

What about you? Are you in your golden hour?

You are not your years. You are your purpose. Just like Brickle and Digby had their purpose, I have mine too. And you do too.

It’s time for you to act on it too, right along with us. We can do this! Brickle said so.

Important message from Girl Person:

Thank you all who have been with so many years…since 2011. I am writing this because of many emails and messages and questions as of late. Although our life has changed, like life does, our mission is the same. To make people realize the value that rescue animals, all wildlife and the earth have. Yes, we do it in a different way and our WORK is different. We try to personalize animals by giving them a voice. We hope that recognizing animals as individuals will make others want to make a difference too. We have worked every day since 2011, many times with no funds coming in because we do not want this platform with over a million followers to be wasted. We could use our platforms for many things, but we give animals the attention and the exposure they need. I personally won’t apologize for the unique work we do. It is work. And if we do not have more support, the blog will not be possible for forever and possibly not for June. The ones who support us make it possible for those who cannot give to have this blog and all of our many channels of entertainment.

We like to think of ourselves as a streaming service, a reality experience. And we hope we save lives and make lives better along the way!

If you want our work to continue, and to grow this property and land into a future sanctuary, we thank you for your support.

Fruity, I think I’m past my golden years. I think my purpose was to recuse myself from the hell I was in until I realized I needed to move to California to save myself and my soul. I did with just my faith that it would all work out and it did, but then I lost my soulmate to cancer, but I continue on. Now, I’m looking for my next purpose.
