The Evil Eye

This is Fruitycake. Yesterday was a rough one.

Going to school may seem like an easy thing to do. But here, it takes us two hours by foot, train, buses and resilience. It’s a lot of commotion, unknown conversations and confusion.

If you’ve lost count of the number of times you’ve visited 2 Traveling Dogs this year, we hope that means it’s given you at least $5 of joy. Please join the 2% of readers who give what they can to help keep this blog available for all!

But, that’s just how things are when you move to a different country. People ask us all of the time “how can I move to Italy? What do I need to do?”. We don’t know! We are still not sure what’s going on.

I guess if you want to do something, you just do it. Also, though, I know you need to be strong in spirit and in body. And may have to give the evil eye.

Yep. You may be shocked at this information.

But the last few weeks have really shown me that I need to be more focused on what is happening around me. And no one was more focused than Brickle.

His demeanor scared away anyone in his gaze.

If you were even thinking of getting too close or talking to Girl Person, or looked suspicious, the evil eye told you to back off. Far off.

I never thought I would have to use the evil eye. But after the pig, the dog that bit me, and the lady that has tried to dognap me twice, I’ve had it.

Brickle said it was time for the evil eye…I heard that in the back of my mind, thru the trees and far into the universe. It is time for the evil eye.

So I decided to try it on yesterday. And anyone that looked like they had no pizza, evil eye. No spaghetti? Evil eye.

If they got too close, evil eye. And you know what? Apparently I did such a good job that two bus drivers asked me to put on a muzzle. Brickle would be proud.

I grew up on the streets, but I only had to protect me. Now, my job to protect Girl Person is my job. I know that now. And when I protect her, she protects me.

I’m not saying evil eye is the answer all of the time. But we all have to be aware and careful. If we want to make the world better, we have to be here to do so. There comes a time when a Fruitycake realizes what Brickle always tried to teach him. Be strong.

Be kind. Be observant. Protect your persons and work on making the world a better place. Do so with a smile, but keep the evil eye in your pocket…

Fruitycake

This is Girl Person. I’d love to get supplies for the weekend today as tourists make it impossible to get buses on the weekend. If anyone has an idea on a video they would like to see me make this weekend, a cooking video, let me know and I’ll make it for you!! If you’d like to give to the blog in order to buy groceries for the weekend you can at https://tinyurl.com/Fruitycakeblog
I’d love to cook for you!

Fruity, I glad you remembered that the evil eye is your ace in the hole! You need to use it more often to protect Girl Person and yourself. You need to remember that this is still a very different country when maybe people are not as accepting as people have been before. I think you both need to be more cautious until you make more friends to help you get around the language and the people.
