This is Peanut Butter Brickle. You may know I’m from the south. Yep. I was originally at a shelter in that Alabama place. And then, I was moved to that Florida place and another shelter. I know about the south. The good and the coated with honey not so good.
I was reminded yesterday when we got to our campground of the coated with honey south. You see, we camped here in 2016. Digby was with us then.
So it felt different when we got here. But many things were still the same. And I’m not sure why, but that made me kind of sad. That nothing much had changed. Yet everything had changed.
When we got here, there were only a few campsites left to stay in. And some of the campsites were what they called double campsites. Double the price. But, we didn’t want to keep driving and so we paid for the campsite. Or campsites.
But the host was sure nice. She said, “honey, are you sure that’s ok?” And of course it was ok. Coated with honey.
Then, it was time for the persons to take their showers. There isn’t water at our campsite. So they have to use the camping showers. And this was definitely something they remembered from their time here before. You push a button and cold water comes out for 20 seconds.
Girl Person likes to call them prison showers.
But it’s ok. You get 20 seconds, honey. Coated with honey.
It’s good to be in campsite 9a and 9b.
And that’s the truth. Memories come flooding back when we stayed here with Digby in campsite 10.
And I would camp here forever if he could be with us.
Yes. Everything even not so good sounds better when you say it nice. But do we mean what we say? Are we being nicely honest? It’s something we can all work on. No matter where we live.
When we visit somewhere from our past, it’s good to think about the individual we were in that time. Have we improved? Ask yourself that question. Honey. Don’t coat words with honey. Mean what you say. Say what you mean. And find a good in between.
