This is Peanut Butter Brickle. No matter how many times I travel to new places, it never ceases to amaze me the new things that I find out about myself.

You may think that you love the beach. Like me.

You may think that you love the mountains. Like Digby did. And like Fruitycake lately. And like I have found a new appreciation for now too.

But how much do you love your favorite place? Do you love it so much that you only stick to the familiar parts of it? Maybe you go to the same restaurant at your favorite place every time you visit.

Maybe you go to your favorite store. Or favorite hotel. Maybe you just always do the same thing. Maybe you talk to the same people. But have you ever visited your favorite place and looked at it differently? Like it’s the first time?

We’ve been to the mountains many times. The creeks and the rivers and the forest is always calming. Familiar.

But this time, I decided that I wanted to spend more time watching the people at the mountains. I wanted to see what they did. And as I was watching, I saw a lady. A lady person in pink. A lady person with a very big bag of dog treats. And she was asking to say hello to everyone’s dog. She was asking to give all the dogs in the campground a treat. She loved dogs so much.

And she was an actual Biscuit Fairy! A Biscuit Fairy! If I hadn’t changed my routine at one of my favorite places, I would missed the magic of the Biscuit Fairy! I would have missed the magic of the mountain.

It is so wonderful to enjoy places we love. But don’t always do the same things at your places. Change up your routine. Find a new way and a new reason to love. And apply your new ways of appreciation to others. To yourself.

I bet you have a lot to learn. And isn’t that magical? As magical as the Biscuit Fairy? Obviously not. But pretty close.
