This is Peanut Butter Brickle. When life hands you lemons, you make lemonade. When life hands you a fire pit, you fall into it. You fall over it. And you fall backwards into a rock and metal and you rethink your life’s decisions. If you are Girl Person.
That’s right. There we were on a normal morning hike up to the top of a mountain. We were climbing up over rocks and hills.
We were avoiding poison ivy and bug bites. That’s right. It was all the makings for a wonderful morning. Until we got back to the RV.
As you may remember from last week, we are parked in a bit of a tight spot. The RV barely fit. The truck barely fit. So Girl Person got out and tried to help Boy Person back the truck up. And the fire pit…well…it tripped her. She fell back. She fell hard. She got hurt pretty bad. But she didn’t break anything. And that was a very good thing. It could have been worse. Me and Fruity were so worried.
But the way she felt was still pretty bad.
What I thought was strange was that the things we think are so dangerous maybe are a little.
But what about the regular moments in life that can be hazardous and can happen in a blink of an eye?
Living has its risks. But living is worth it. Living has to be appreciated. Living can be taken away. Even by a fire pit.
So today, if there’s something you want to do, do it. Don’t wait till a perfect moment. That perfect moment is now.
