This is Digby Pancake. Do you get distracted a lot? I may know how you feel.
One minute I want breakfast. The next minute I want lunch. The next minute I’m thinking about dinner. And dessert.
But Girl Person says that distractions are a problem for her. She says she gets side tracked. She gets nothing done. But I say…maybe the something she gets done is more important than those things anyway.
We all can put expectations on ourself. I want to run faster. I want to be younger. But it’s not going to happen. If I get down about all the things I’m not, I’ll forget about all the things that I am! And I am me! Despite what I am not, I am totally more than perfect.
Despite what distracts me, I’m still valuable. And you are too! Don’t forget about all that you are and all that you do.
We all have different attention levels. Some of us expect too much out of getting tasks completed!
Some of us don’t hold ourselves accountable enough. Being honest with yourself is the first step. Distractions may not be the problem. It may be expectations.
Embrace what your mind leads you to. Throw away the guilt. And see what is leading you. Where is it you’re trying to go? You will get there some way. Some how. We always do…because our heart takes us where we want.
