This is Digby Pancake. When you were young, what did you what to be when you grew up?
Maybe you didn’t even think about it…what you wanted to be. You just did things and enjoyed them. But more than likely, you liked to make others happy too by what you liked to do.
For Girl Person, she liked to put on shows. She would make pictures and she would make up plays and shows.
As shy as she was, she loved to create stories and act them out. Her family liked to watch too. This made her happy.
But as life went on for Girl Person, she forgot about those shows. She didn’t forget what she liked though. She just had stuff to do. And she had to grow up.
What did you like to do when you were young in years? I bet you didn’t even think about or analyze it back then.
Because doing what you liked to do was just something you did. You didn’t have to feel guilty about it. You didn’t have to worry about not being able to do it perfectly.
So now that you’re living your responsible life like all adult persons do, what show are you missing? What part of yourself did you let go behind the stage?
Can you come out for a second act?
It may be easy for us to forget what we really like and enjoy. We may not feel worthy of being fulfilled or happy. We may feel selfish for wanting to be happy in what we do. But it’s not selfish to breathe. It’s a necessity.
So I have my ticket. What show will you put on?
Peel back the years. Peel back the layers. Express yourself!
Call your younger self and say it’s time. The show must go on.
