Walk The Walk

This is Sheriff Peanut Butter Brickle. Walking is what we do. All day. Every day. Unless we are sleeping.

Or unless we are traveling.

Or unless we are eating.

So yeah. We do a lot of walking. In fact, we have walked in all the 48 contiguous states. We have walked in the sunshiney, we have walked in the snow, we have walked in the rain. And well, sometimes you get tired of waking. And then it’s back to the sleeping and eating and all that other stuff. Which is how things are supposed to be. But what happens when you can tell a million other people how to walk and where to walk, but you don’t feel like walking?

Yeah. We were tested the last few months with a lot of things going wrong. We lost people we loved, we had some disappointments happen. And we still aren’t thru the storm. In fact, we feel in a way that we are getting ready for a hurricane when the Big Blue Treat Wagon pulls out of here in less than two weeks. So we want to say we are sorry for not being able to walk as fast as we used to. And we realized that we were being pretty forgetful. To say the least. Positivity seemed liked a destination we would never find again.

Have you ever felt like you were just waiting for the sky to fall? That’s how we have been feeling. Because when the RV wants to act out, well, it’s really acting out. Boy Person can fix just about anything. But maybe sometimes you don’t want to fix things. You want the problems to not be there in the first place. And then you start feeling sorry for yourself. And that’s been us. The persons said that if in fact we are going on this next trip for Digby and I, they need to remember that. Because when you are doing something for someone else, even if it’s hard, if you love them, it’s worth it.

You don’t complain. You don’t look back. Because looking back is a waste of time. And it’s really hard to walk backwards.

Sure. We have some more work to do and repairs to make to get going and planning. But we aim to tell you next week where our route will take us and what this trip will be about. This is for me and Digby. We’ve had a rough year. Time marches on right across all of us.

By trying to encourage all of you, it keeps us motivated not to let you down. Not one of us has a perfect life. Yes. We would like things to be easier one day. But we will work with what we’ve got now and try to make the best decisions from today on. That’s all we can do. It’s time for us to walk the walk. To make the most out of this time we have, especially with Digby. We didn’t think we would have this time.

So let’s get moving. Packing. Preparing. We may have our not so positive days. But we promise that we will never go anywhere…except forward. However, if you see us on the side of the road, at least wave.

Digby doesn’t look like he’s giving up to me. Blessings to you all! Aim for a cooler climate for you all. At least if the a.c. stops, it is not so bad. I love reading about the boys and their adventures. Thanks for sharing them with us!

  2. Life does throw us all curves every now and then. You 4 just being you has kept gloomy days for me so much better. You’ve traveled places I will never get to see. I saw those places through your pictures and blogs. Don’t worry about pleasing all of us. We love you all and look forward to your blogs. I hope the decisions you’re making now are for you 4. I love you all.
