It Says No Rain

This is Sheriff Peanut Butter Brickle. If it’s true that no one can predict the weather, and I predict the authenticity of this true statement, then why do we try?

Why are there people who look at maps and tell us the forecast? Why are there maps on people’s phones that show them where rain is or is not? Who colors these things? Do they sit around and color in the lines or outside of the lines? Why do we believe this?

In this Florida place, the sun can be shining and the birds can be singing. Then all of a sudden, rain can pour down like Digby’s drool caught in a breeze. No warning. No alert on phones. No weather person telling us.

Then sometimes, persons hear thunder. They see dark clouds. But if you’re like Girl Person, you look at all five apps on your phone, and you pick the one that says it isn’t going to rain. Because you don’t want to take down the bird feeder or put in the slide outs. And you sit back down, and you continue to ignore the thunder. Because you think positive. And you’re positively wrong.

Persons have a rough time thinking for themselves. They wait for others to tell them facts and figures and weather reports. Because they don’t want to take responsibility and think for themselves. It’s easier to just do what we are told, isn’t it? It’s more difficult to go our own way.

If someone says there is zero percent chance of rain, yet it’s raining, is it raining? Obviously. Don’t ignore the obvious things in life. Seeing what we want to may be easier in that moment. But it won’t be if you don’t have an umbrella and get all wet. You’ll still be all wet and have a mess. It’s easier in the long run to recognize the rain do what you have to do. Because no storm lasts forever.

As Girl Person and Boy Person prepared to take a walk the other day, they started walking because that is what you do on a walk.  The sun was shining.  Then, all of a sudden, the thunder started.  The clouds grew darker.  And they were sitting right on top of the Big Blue Treat Wagon RV.  They looked at the weather report. All four of them.  All of the reports said zero percent chance of rain.  But they knew better.  They got under the awning just in time as a storm came pouring down for over an hour.  They had to wait for the storm.

But after, they could see clearly. They could see the sun.  It was scary waiting thru the thunder and lightning.  But it didn’t last forever.

So if you are going thru something right now, as Granny Person used to say, “this too will pass.”  You can do it.  But don’t rely on others to tell you what to do.  Follow your heart.
