This is Fruitycake. If bread had a fan club, a dog named Fruitycake, that’s me, would be its president.
I said it. And I barked it too.
Seems like my Girl Person had to just go and get groceries. Well, she did. That was on Friday and she has to go again today. She can only carry so much, and also, all the many, many persons visiting this Italy place in the summer make it kinda hard, like stale bread, like croutons, to get much done. Might as well make a salad and grow the veggies while you’re waiting!
I don’t really like her going out today because I like to be massaged all day and that takes away from that.
Can you imagine how nice it is to always get massaged and petted all day? And then it’s interrupted with person chores? Yeah, I guess bread is the only reason I allow it to happen.
A baguette. A cornetto. They have it all here.
And we also have resolve here. Like yeast making the bread rise before you put it in you oven, so are we. We will get the jobs done here and will muster up the strength. Even on a day like today. The old bikes have flat tires and the persons may have to ride on top of the bus to fit, but bread. But the future. We will make it happen. And you can too.
If we are fortunate enough to have daily bread, that means you worked hard. That means even under pressure you can do it. I believe in you just as much as you believe in us. I also believe I will get a baguette today. I can make it happen.
I can. I will. And so can you.
It’s a new week and a new choice to appreciate our daily bread and life itself. What a wonderful chance we all have.
