This is Fruitycake. It seems like the days are getting longer here. I like that. The sun comes up early and doesn’t disappear until we are almost ready for bed.
It’s nice not to have to chase the sunshiney because we have a lot of work to do during the day. There is work on the land and work on the house.

There js work Girl Person tries to do to pay more bills and get pizza. Yes, she has writing assignments and persons she calls clients that she helps them with their businesses.
And there is work just to live. Boy Person has to get water from the waterfall. He has to make sure we have solar power to run the tiny refrigerator and lights. He has to do many things too. Just to start our days.

Girl Person washes our laundry in a bucket. She got a bigger tub but it broke yesterday so it’s back to the bucket.
Today, Girl Person has to get us some food and supplies. And that means a few buses if she can squeeze on with the tourists and then walking. That’s half a day right there. And if she has the 5.00 left for a bus ticket home, that’s what she aims for.

Yesterday, the persons also started painting the bedroom.
Yes, there are many things to get done here. And to my persons, it may seem like we need more hours in the day. But do we? We all have to find the time to stop and enjoy the earth if that’s what we are trying to make a better place.

What if you worked day and night for someone but you never talked to them or you never acknowledged them? What if you worked the hardest that you could for them but you never truly saw them or enjoyed their company?
There could be more hours for work, yes. But it’s up to us to see what we truly need to spend our time on and who.
When my persons think back to the years they spent with Brickle and Digby and the sacrifices they made to make that work, they don’t regret it. They don’t regret spending all their money on visiting shelters when we sold our house.
Because more hours spending them with Brickle and Digby were an investment in the greater good of animal rescue…and the greater good for Brickle and Digby. That’s just it.

So don’t wish for more hours, but spend your hours on what’s important to you and who. I appreciate you reading my blog every day. Because that’s part of your time too.

And my joy is giving joy time to you. What a wonderful way to spend my time.

One of our visions here in Italy is to grow produce and deliver to shelters for a weekly or biweekly delivery. Many dogs could benefit from fresh food added to their diet, and it’s good for the environment. The environmental impact of pet food is significant, particularly dry food, requiring a considerable amount of agricultural land for production and generates a substantial amount of greenhouse gas emissions. We would also be educating online on how to do this where you live!
Our dreams of making this property in Italy a refuge for animals and wildlife and a way to make a difference around the world by educating and encouraging others to do the same is a real focus now. If you’d like to continue to help us, we absolutely thank you. And we love you!

I so enjoy reading your posts everyday and learn more about you. That house is quite the project, but you’re younger than me and I’m sure that it’s work but also an adventure that I’m learning is how you guys do things. My sister travel in Europe one summer and enjoyed it. She had taken a semester of Italian, but it didn’t help her because of all the dialects. Enjoy the good weather; hopefully, you can get a lot done before the cold. Thanks for sharing.
