This is Peanut Butter Brickle. Some days, you have to pick your battles. My battle for yesterday? A snapper monster.

It was raining. Pouring. Digby was snoring.

The rain has been falling for quite some time. Wind and flooding has affected so many persons and animals lately. But truth be told, and I always tell the truth, I was bored. Digby was bored. And when an intruder decided to make his way across our viewpoint from the barn, it was game on.
First, Digby took charge at the snapper monster. But as Girl Person screamed at him to stop because he would get bit, Digby actually listened to her and stopped.
I saw it. I saw the snapper monster too. However, I knew that if I took matters into my own paws to get the trespassers out, I had to be patient. I had to pretend like I didn’t care. I had to wait. And so I did.
Girl Person and Boy Person were busy talking when I took advantage of the opportunity. I ran full force at that snapper monster, increasing my speed as the persons chased me.
And just as I got in the trespasser’s face, he stuck out his neck and with the force of a million regular turtles, his jaw snapped down on my nose.
If you were anywhere near the vicinity of this Georgia place, you could have heard Girl Person scream the scream of screams. She was sure my nose was gone.
But as I yelped, embarrassingly shocked at my retreat, I backed off. And although my nose sure hurt, my ego hurt worse of all.
You see, we all have to pick our battles each day, don’t we?
Some arguments, like the one with snapper monster, just are not worth it. Some are.
We all have decisions to make each day on how we use our energy and our gifts. Don’t waste those valuable things on battles you can’t win. Make a difference where it is appreciated.
