Shenandoah River State Park is in the town of Bentonville, Virginia.
The park was established in 1994, and covers 1,619 acres along the South Fork Shenandoah River.

In addition to gorgeous river frontage, the park offers you and your dog vistas overlooking Massanutten Mountain to the west and Shenandoah National Park to the east.
Camping in Shenandoah River State Park allows you the opportunity to enjoy BOTH the State Park AND the National Park, plus, you can take a ride on Skyline Drive!

In Shenandoah River State Park, there are 12 riverfront tent campsites, a campground with water and electric sites, cabins, camping cabins and a group campground.
With more than 24 miles of trails, the park has plenty of options for you to hike with your dog.
And if you want to, just jump in the car and head to Shenandoah National Park and hike there too! Shenandoah National Park is one of the few national parks that allow pets on trails.
The Skyline Drive runs 105 miles north and south along the crest of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Shenandoah National Park and is the only public road through the Park.
There are many stops you can make along the way.
It takes about three hours to travel the entire length of the National Park on a clear day.

The park is in Warren County, eight miles south of Front Royal and 15 miles north of Luray, just off U.S. Route 340 in Bentonville. From Northern Virginia, take 66 West to Linden exit. At light, turn right on 55 West to Front Royal, then left on 340 South for 8 miles. From I-81, Front Royal exit to 340 South to Bentonville. Look for park signs along the way. Turn right on Daughter of Stars Drive. Contact station is located at the top of the hill.
THERE IS A PER NIGHT PER PET FEE FOR CATS AND DOGS IN ALL CABINS (PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE YURTS). CUSTOMERS MAKING RESERVATIONS VIA THE WEB ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR VISITING THE PARK OFFICE TO PAY ALL APPLICABLE PET FEES.
