If home is where your heart is, for us, it is always in our Big Blue Treat Wagon RV.

But it DOES make a difference where we choose to park it. And recently, we camped at the Trackrock Campground and Cabins in Blairsville, Georgia. What a surprise it was!
This family owned and operated campground has been in business for over fifty years. They certainly give attention to detail, but not in a fancy way.
This homelike atmosphere for camping is laidback, spacious, beautiful and relaxing for both people and dogs.
North Georgia is certainly a popular destination for travel. Yes, there are many state parks, forests and private campgrounds to choose from.
But many times, we find no available reservations…even weeks ahead of time. Trackrock was able to fit us in at the last minute, and we were very appreciative!
Trackrock Campground & Cabins and Trackrock Stables is a 250 acre paradise of meadows, hayfields, and woodlands in the beautiful North Georgia Mountains.
Located between Blairsville and Hiawassee, Trackrock is completely isolated from all other commercial developments.
The property is bordered on three sides by the Chattahoochee National Forest.
In 1966, Tommie and Martha Alexander turned their family farm into an 18-site campground for tent camping and a small riding stable. They have made so many improvements over 50 years. The Alexander family continues to own and operate their family-oriented campground today.
We think that this makes this campground very special.

It is welcoming, not intrusive, yet caring.
The expansive grass areas, meadows and mountain views will leave any dog barkless.

Brickle and Digby enjoyed their walks in the morning and taking a dip in the creek, visiting their horse friends and the campground guests at a distance.
There are 95 level, shady, private campsites. Our favorite site for our 37 foot motorhome was site #93…but don’t tell anyone.
Trackrock offers camping for everyone – tents, popups and RVs (max 40′ please). For RVs and pop ups, they offer both pull thru and back-in sites which include water, 30 and 50 amp electricity and sewer. They also offer water and electricity sites for tents. All sites have picnic tables and fire rings. Their bath houses are kept very clean and are equipped with hot showers. There is horseback riding, summer horse camps, riding lessons, swimming, fishing, playgrounds, hiking trails, hayrides, picnic pavilions, and more! You can even camp with your dog at their dog-friendly cabin! Dogs are allowed in Cabin 5 only. There is a one time $35 pet fee for one dog or $45 for two dogs. There is a 2 dog maximum at any time.

We don’t often choose to stay at private campgrounds, preferring national and state parks and sometimes boon docking.
But this campground is a great mix of all camping worlds.
There are just enough amenities to let you know you aren’t roughing it. At times, I felt like it was too quiet! This is truly a campground that has been here over fifty years for a reason.
If you want your vacation to take you back in time to simpler days when the world was less hectic, more friendly and simple, visit Trackrock Campground and Cabins! And tell them 2 Traveling Dogs sent you!
