This is Sheriff Peanut Butter Brickle. There’s never a dull moment when you are camped at a farm. Well. Sometimes there are a few dull moments here and there. I guess.

And during those dull moments, if they are interrupted by a really exciting one, you wake up out of a deep sleep. Unless you’re Girl Person and you sleep thru a herd of water buffalo traveling thru your campsite.

Yes. Yes. You heard me. A herd of water buffalo. You may remember earlier in the week when the bison escaped. He was arrested.

However, his cell mates, the water buffalos. decided that if he could take a walk, it was only fair that they did too.

So another jailbreak occurred.

In the middle of the night, the water buffalos decided they would also take a walk. A real long walk thru the farm and you heard me. In our campsite.

Now. As usual, I was on high alert. As usual, Digby was asleep. Our windows were open. And that’s when I smelled them. I smelled them real loud.

I tried to climb out the window, Deputy Diggy howled at the top of his lungs, and generally we sounded the alarms. All of the alarms we had.

As Girl Person slept thru everything, Boy Person looked out the window and all he saw was a shadow. A very large shadow.

Now, figuring that the bison had explored a few nights ago, Boy Person thought maybe he had escaped again.

But, right before bed, he had been watching and reading all the reports about aliens. About UFO’s. And he thought that perhaps, the shadow may just have something to do with that.

So Boy Person decided the best plan of action was no action. And that’s what he did. Until the next morning when Girl Person saw the tracks.

She exclaimed that something had paid us a visit. Boy Person said yep. Apparently that’s what we were barking at. And Girl Person had no idea what he was talking about. And she had no idea who had been in our campsite.

Then, all of a sudden, there they were. A whole lot of water buffalo running and running and farm people chasing and chasing.

Seemed a little like this had happened before. Because it had happened before.

I had a lot of arrests to make once they were captured and safely escorted home.

But I also had to find out why. Why. Why were so many large animals being apprehended?

I interviewed the accused. And I found out a bit of jealousy was going on here between the bison and the water buffalo. Apparently, a good looking lady is the cause of all this fighting. Bickering. Escaping. It’s drama, y’all. You see, jealousy can be a dangerous thing.

Even when you are a bison. Even when you are a buffalo. Strong feelings and jealousy can hurt you. You can hurt others. And no one may get what they wanted in the long run.

Sometimes you have to be the best you can be for you. If others decide they want to be with you, they will.

And if not, I bet spending time with yourself won’t be that bad. It wouldn’t be for me. I love my company.

Not all emotions are healthy ones. Sure, we all have our not so good days. But instead of trying to escape our emotions, replace them with love. Kindness. Contentment. And only then will you attract what’s meant to be.
