The first visitor we had last year around this time at the Under The Crow accommodations is back.

That’s right. The ghiro, or dormouse as they are most commonly known has found her way back into her window accommodations.

You may remember that last year, she had made herself at home and made the shutters part of her home by eating them.

Apparently, she’s been doing this for years, and most likely, her family before her.

They can live for 12 years and she didn’t even move when she saw Girl Person shining the light on her.

Apparently, she is used to the spotlight after last year. What ghiro has a million adoring fans? This one.

Now, here’s the issue. We were not accepting reservations yet here at our wildlife sanctuary. Most ghiros would think she is crazy for coming back here with all the construction noise and a cute black and white Fruitycake dog living here.

But she is not crazy. She’s just the first to live with our family here. And we will take care of her and her babies just like last year.

Although we have to make sure that they are safer than last year. So Boy Person is building a box today to keep them safer and so they don’t fall out of the window. That is his goal today. And when she goes out tonight like she always does at night, we will put the box in there. We hope she gives us high ratings on our effort.

Do you ever feel crazy? Like Girl Person does? She feels like the ghiro sometimes. Trying to fit in the window of what she thinks others want her to do. People tell her you should only care about animals where you live. But why? Can’t we all care and learn from each other on animals and rescues and shelters and wildlife? Can’t we see that when we work together all around the world, that we can all help each other? And that help is magnified by more and more people to be friends with and make a difference? That’s what we are trying to do here! We aren’t crazy. Girl Person isn’t crazy. She’s just the first to try and do this in this way. And she’s not giving up! No way!

Girl Person and Brickle were a team that was a once in a lifetime relationship. That’s why she knows he’s showing her now to stop concentrating on convincing others to see this vision.

They will see it when we succeed. Some will only see it then.

But those that see us now know we aren’t crazy. We are just the first. And they are already here. But there’s no room at the inn just yet. The ghiro (who needs a name by the way) says she will be here a few months…
