This is Fruitycake. When you’re in the middle of a very hot day in the middle of a very hot heatwave, you have to wonder if it will ever be cool weather again.
Oh, but we know the answer to that question. It certainly will. And August won’t last forever. Soon, it will be a memory too.
It’s hard to see the cooler weather when you’re in the middle of summer.
And it was hard for my persons yesterday when they were trying to climb our path with a few supplies.
In August, our closest neighbors at the bottom of the path are enjoying their month off with family like most Italian families. So they are always there and they always say ciao and we talk, even me, as best as we can. It’s nice to see them there so much.
But Girl Person remarked yesterday that soon, her and Boy Person will be walking by as skeletons if they keep going like this.
She said that soon, they will be carrying stuff up and down and with everything strapped to their backs and arms and even legs, but they will just be skeletons. But somehow, they will keep going.
I have to tell them. Yes, skeletons can walk.
So many persons walk around with sadness and anxiety and worries. They keep walking. So many persons walk around with fear and anger. But they keep walking. Until eventually, they can’t. Don’t be a skeleton.
My persons have so much to learn and it’s not just about how to fix a house. It’s about how to fix themselves to help others.
Maybe you know how they feel. Skeletons can walk. Remember when you meet someone today who looks weary. Offer a ciao. A hello. A kind word of encouragement. Just because someone is functioning doesn’t mean they aren’t struggling.
A dog can get out our frustrations with barks and running and living. Persons may have it more complicated, but don’t keep walking in life until you can’t. Feed your soul now.

Our goal before the end of the year (that’s only four months) is to get mold and mildew removed inside and painted. As well, a basic filming studio inside to start our worldwide animal rescue program and outreach. As winter months approach here, starting this interview programming with rescues around the world and starting our education programs will be forefront. Our mission has long been rooted in helping animals in urgent need through awareness and direct action. Our goal is to collaborate international rescue organizations to amplity animal welfare efforts globally and locally. We also plan to continue our travel and content creation to spotlight worldwide rescue work and encourage compassionate action.
We estimate this initial development phase to span
2-4 years, understanding that unforeseen challenges may require flexibility. Our intentions are long-term and community-focused, and we are committed to respectful integration and contribution to the region and beyond.
